A FEMINIST POV ON AI & chatGPT

let’s deep dive into innovations around AI and chatGPT. what will change in the future, who is writing the rules, and what can each of us do?

in this copy i am sharing with you
- the american AI drive
- a femnist view on AI w/ Alexandra Wudel
- saying good bye to this pregnancy

it’s time for another NL to make you smarter and give you some impulses on emerging tech, entrepreneurship and personal branding AND becoming a mom. starting off with one big question: is the baby here? no, not yet. while i'm writing this newsletter, we're getting signs, but the baby is still chilling. for now, we're doing fine again. just make sure not to infect yourself with influenza, and if you've already had it, i feel you! starting re:frame, i had the idea to invite people from my network to uplevel the value with their pov, and the first to welcome is Alexandra Wudel, founder of FemAI. let’s deep dive, love d.

KICK IT LIKE TRUMP

from my pov, we really have to look at this movement carefully. in recent weeks, president Donald Trump has taken significant steps to bolster the U.S. position in AI, which also comes with a downside:

  • executive order on AI “de”regulation: on january 23, 2025, Trump signed executive order 14179, titled "removing barriers to american leadership in AI." this order aims to enhance U.S. AI leadership by revoking previous policies perceived as restrictive and mandates the development of a new action plan within 180 days to maintain global AI dominance.

  • launch of the stargate project: announced on january 21, 2025, the stargate project is a joint venture involving OpenAI, SoftBank, Oracle, and MGX. the initiative plans to invest up to $500 billion in AI infrastructure in the U.S. by 2029, with the goal of creating over 100,000 jobs.

  • advocacy for light AI regulation: VP JD Vance delivered a speech at an AI summit in Paris, urging U.S. allies to adopt a "light-touch" approach to AI regulation. he emphasized that heavy regulations could stifle innovation and highlighted the need for a regulatory environment that encourages technological advancement.

the recent developments in AI have raised significant ethical and geopolitical concerns. they underscore the rapid evolution and their profound implications:

  • Google's policy reversal on AI for military use: Google has rescinded its 2018 commitment to abstain from developing AI technologies for weapons and surveillance. this policy shift aligns Google with other tech giants engaging in defense contracts, sparking internal dissent among employees and criticism from human rights organizations.

  • emergence of China's DeepSeek AI model: chinese startup DeepSeek has introduced advanced AI models comparable to leading U.S. technologies but developed at a fraction of the cost while lacking in data policies and transparency regarding its usage. additionally, it censors certain results.

  • development of autonomous AI agents: OpenAI has unveiled "Operator," an AI agent capable of performing tasks autonomously, such as online purchases and social media updates. while still in early stages, Operator exemplifies the potential and challenges of agentic AI, including concerns about misuse and the necessity for regulatory frameworks.

IS THERE A FEMINST SEAT AT THE EUROPEAN AI TABLE, ALEXANDRA WUDEL?

the Paris AI Summit was more than a gathering - it set the agenda for AI in Europe. beyond official announcements, crucial decisions happened in side events and closed-door talks. who truly gets a seat at the table? the AI climate is aggressive, with immense pressure to innovate. can europe protect fundamental rights in this race for dominance?

french president Emmanuel Macron framed the summit as a “wake-up call” for europe to compete with the us and china. his leadership inspires startups like FemAI, alongside openai’s munich office and germany’s mission ki.

funding is key. germany’s Jeannette zu Fürstenberg and other investors pledged €150 billion over five years. the EU announced a €200 billion investment plan, its largest push for “trustworthy AI.” these moves are crucial for european AI startups. but amid Europe’s ai race, does FemAI - a startup focused on bias-free, certified trustworthy AI - have a seat at the table? was bias-free AI even discussed at the summit?

meanwhile, elon musk’s $97.4 billion bid for openai dominated headlines, raising concerns about AI power concentration. our work with the EU, german foreign office, un, and 25+ organizations has shown that trustworthy ai strengthens democracies and improves performance. the EU AI ACT makes europe’s stance clear: trust. bias in AI cannot be ignored. indian prime minister Narendra Modi called ai bias his top concern, urging democratized, fair AI - aligning with femai’s vision. responsible innovation must ensure ai serves humanity equitably. the equation is simple: less bias, more trust.

we urge decision-makers to structure projects carefully. while we welcome change, trustworthiness is europe’s long-term advantage. responsible AI startups must secure funding for strategic growth. we need an abundance mindset, be bold, be louder, and prioritize values over limits to shape the future we envision.

NOTE2SELF

i can't tell how much i'll miss this pregnancy. the unpredictable journey i was thrown into. how much i had to learn about letting go and staying in the moment. acceptance and softness.

i have internalized hustle culture. always focused on improving, achieving, and getting better results instead of true growth. but now, as i write this lines, i feel thankful. for the women around me who became mothers and became my strongest support network. for my partner, who showed me it's okay to just rest without doing anything.

and still i'm someone who thrives on change. who looks toward a future where we are all seen. we have to break mother myth. compatibility should not just be a personal struggle within family or partnership. it has to be made possible by society and in daily business. we are bringing our children to work, to events, onto stages, holding them, having them around us, because this is what it truly means to be visible as mothers. not overlooked and therefore forgotten.

i'm pregnant, not dead. and in the future, i'll be a mom and still an entrepreneur. i spent years overseeing these challenges while i was working „for more diversity and equity". this will change, something is cooking.

HOW TO WORK W/ ME

yes, i still work - at least, i'm planning my comeback for MAY 2025. if you're in need of a creative lead w/ a focus on emerging tech. i offer workshops, speeches, and consulting. you can also reach out for support in personal branding and entrepreneurship. and i will take some bookings for stages too. see my references via dajanaeder.xyz

something that i enjoyed a lot was helping out starting a meaningful newsletter w/ the power of chatGPT.

BITS & NUGGETS to make u SMARTER

  • ikigami” written by Dr. Miriam von Felbert helps you w/ weekly impulses to truly focus on what fulfills you. start w/ issue “sensitive leadership”.

  • briefings & breakdowns” by Jeannette & Isa (who wrote in my book also) are giving you insides on marketing/pr/advertisment w/ a feminist and funny twist. (german)

  • this insta insta reel of Venus Willians needs to be seen, to understand how fast people could break your confidence.

AND IN CONCLUSION? "i recommend: stick to your values. not to your vision or company. that way, you'll maintain a clear view of when it's time to let go."

TIMING IS EVERYTHING: when i started talking about community building on social media back in 2009, it felt like a whisper in a crowded room - facebook fanpages were just born. my first blogger relations workshops in 2011 focused on cross-posting and user-generated content. in 2019, i created products for personal branding, focusing on "your true message" - a concept that’s more relevant than ever in today’s world of linkedin and ai. by 2021, i had the vision to connect women through blockchain, building WOM3N.dao (decentralized autonomous organization) to enable them - not just with a voice, but with financial strength to finally break the cycle of unpaid work. it was a huge success, international stages, lots of media and amazing collaborations. but i stopped.

and now? i'm on my journey of becoming a mom while working on different business strategies. being ahead of the mainstream curve is exhausting, yes. but when you lead others to follow in your footsteps, it can create a movement powerful enough to transform industries. i see how the fields are being created, the people who are working on them. sometimes i feel that sense of fomo, of not being relevant enough anymore. but letting go also sets you free for something new and as some of you know, my thoughts are being published in my bi-weekly newsletter. feel free to join.

a huge thank you to the Lexware team Sophia Heitzler, Nicole Packhaeuser-Brunner & Christian Steiger for giving my story a platform in "tell your story". together, let’s continue shaping a future that represents all of us.
