why consistency is still key

i wanted to give up, but then i decided to just keep on going - one step at a time. action figure ai trend. overcoming procrastination. 50% off on my webinars.

in this edition, i'm sharing:
- consistency is key
- action figure starter set
- overcoming procrastination

i wanted to give up on this newsletter. to just stop what i’m doing here. some readers told me i’m sharing too much, i’m too personal, too many details that should stay private. and some are just bothered by all the mum-content. i hear you and i see you – i was the same. especially when women i admired became mothers and it felt like their whole life was suddenly circling around that newborn. i was bored and not interested. and that’s fair enough. we don’t need to follow if we’re not inspired anymore. but now i know why they started sharing – more than that, now it feels unnatural when women don’t share that much about their new role. and it’s mums who are writing me, replying to this newsletters with soft and warm words. lines filled with hope and appreciation. this journey is the hardest i’ve ever been on, and even though i like it, sometimes i just want to quit. but that’s also why i continue this newsletter. my bi-weekly white canvas, waiting to be filled. this is my act of creation. of re:framing who i am. and sharing my learnings and feelings, because as i always used to say – we grow together, but most of all by being honest and pure. love d.

TREND ALLERT : ACTION FIGURE STARTER SET

i’m sure you’ve come across those pictures on instagram and linkedin — what a movement. a fast wave of people creating their alter egos as plastic dolls. and yeah, i did it too. figured out a prompt for chatgpt to create my own set. maybe you’re a bit late to the party, but it’s a fun way to practice and sharpen your prompting skills.

prompt: create an image of an action figure set made out of plastic, showing the main charcter [name] with description [describe wording on package] as [describe person and clothes] with accessoires [describe all the accessories]. in a package [describe colors] inside clear plastic. … ps: i did not upload pictures to create this images.

the good: it helps you learn how to use prompts to bring your ideas to life - and you’ll quickly see how tricky that can be.
the bad: you’ll run into your own limitations, and the limitations of ai.
the ugly: if you’re using apps, be careful not to upload photos you wouldn’t want stored in some cloud forever (especially of kids). you never really know how or where an image might be used to train ai - unless you’ve read the fine print.

NOTE2SELF

adhd is living on the edge of procrastination and hyperfocus. and this newsletter is the perfect example of what that looks like for me. i usually collect ideas in my notes app - little things i might want to publish next - and i’m a sponge, always soaking up anything that catches my interest. i read, i listen, i create. but after gathering everything, it takes me forever to actually shape those thoughts into something structured enough to send out. i struggle to start writing until it’s almost too late. the upside is, my thoughts are still fresh - literally warm - but on the flip side, i forget some of them along the way. still, once i finally get going, i finish the newsletter in just a few hours.

this time, my dear friend - who has already inspired me countless times - gave the kick off for this edition by posting a reel on how to overcome procrastination by understanding the roles of expectancy, value, impulsiveness, and delay. tune in and listen to jasvin’s wisdom series on instagram. and don’t forget to follow.

it is okay to struggle. it is okay to change plans. it is okay to not start writing because the little one is asking for more attention. it is okay to write with the help of chatgpt by dictating some weird lines and letting ai put it in order. it is okay to delay. it is okay to pause and not do it at all. it is okay to be human. i am allowed to deliver less than 100% and still be worth following. but it is also okay to lose some subscribers.
